How Do I Get Accreditation?

See below for the steps required to obtain the relevant certification or accreditation. The following certification and accreditation is available:

  • By invitation of NSWRU only


Accreditation

Level 1 Coach

  • Attend a Foundation Course (incorporates SmartRugby),
    and
  • Pass a Level 1 Coaching Theory Exam (90%),
    and
  • Complete a Coaching Diary demonstrating 30 hrs of coaching practice showing “planning, acting and reviewing”,
    and
  • Successfully complete a Level 1 Coach competency assessment.

Level 2 Coach

  • Have current SmartRugby certification,
    and
  • Attend a Level 2 Coach Course,
    and
  • Pass a Level 2 Referee Law Exam (90%),
    and
  • Complete a Coaching Diary demonstrating 60 hrs of coaching practice showing “planning, acting and reviewing”,
    and
  • Successfully complete of a Level 2 Coach competency assessment.

Level 3 Coach

  • By invitation of the ARU only

Level 1 Referee

  • Attend a Foundation Course (incorporates SmartRugby),
    and
  • Pass a Level 1 Referee Law Exam (90%),
    and
  • Successfully complete of a Level 1 Referee competency field test (U13s game or older).

Level 2 Referee

  • Have current SmartRugby certification,
    and
  • Attend at a Level 2 Referee Course,
    and
  • Pass a Level 2 Referee Law Exam (90%),
    and
  • Successfully complete a Level 2 Referee competency field test (open age teams only),
  • and
  • Attain Level 2 Touch Judge Accreditation.

Level 3 Referee

  • By invitation of the ARU only

  • Attend a Level 1 Referee Coach Course,
    and
  • Pass a Level 2 Referee Law Exam (90%),
    and
  • Submit 5 satisfactory referee coaching reports,

Level 2 Referee Coach

  • Attend a Level 2 Referee Coach Course,
    and
  • Pass a Level 2 Referee Law Exam (90%),
    and
  • Submit 5 satisfactory referee coaching reports,
    and
  • Successfully complete a Level 2 Referee Coach competency field test

Level 3 Referee Coach

  • By invitation of the ARU only
