Coaching Kids Rugby (Mini/Midi) – Refereeing Kids Rugby (Mini/Midi)
The Coaching Kids Rugby (CKR) – Refereeing Kids Rugby (RKR) courses will teach you to either coach or referee rugby at Mini and Midi levels (U8 – U12s).
The course does not result in coach or referee accreditation, but it will result in a certificate that allows the participants to coach or referee modified rugby.
This course will give participants a SmartRugby qualification.
Does this course incorporate SmartRugby?
Yes. If you attend this course, you will be covered for SmartRugby and do NOT have to attend a stand-alone SmartRugby course.
Who is the course aimed at?
People who are involved in Mini or Midi modified games as coaches, referees, parents or club volunteers. Current Level 1 and Level 2 accredited coaches and referees who are involved at this younger level will also benefit from this course.
What are the prerequisites?
There are no prerequisites.
What is the minimum age?
12 years old.
What resources will be provided?
- CKR participants will receive: CKR Booklet and DVD; SmartRugby Booklet and DVD; Gear bag and markers; whistle
- RKR participants will receive: RKR pamphlet; SmartRugby Booklet and DVD; Acme Thunderer TM whistle.
How long is the course?
3.5 hrs
What should I bring?
The course is usually conducted outdoors, and involves some activity so sports gear is recommended. For evening courses we suggest you bring warm clothing, and for day courses, sunscreen, water and a hat. Please also bring paper and a pen.
