Level 2 Coaching Course
This course has a greater emphasis both on the tactical aspects of each part of the game as well as the technical skills required to choose such options. It is the aim that all accredited Level 2 coaches are creative as well as being knowledgeable so that the game can benefit from the individual enterprise of both themselves and their players.
The lecture units of the Level 2 course can be separated into four modules: Becoming an Effective Coach, Individual Skills - Key Factor Analysis, The Elements of Rugby, and Ancillary Units.
Does the course incorporate SmartRugby?
No.
Who is the course aimed at?
Current Level 1 accredited coaches currently coaching senior under age teams and open age rugby who wish to improve their knowledge of the game and coaching techniques. This may include coaches who want to pursue a representative coaching pathway.
What are the prerequisites?
You must be:
- a current Level 1 accredited coach
- SmartRugby compliant
You should also be coaching a team of age group U15s or above.
What is the minimum age?
19 years old.
What resources will be provided?
All participants will receive:
- a 2006/07 Law Book
- a Level 2 Participant Workbook
- an ARU Coaching Course Record Book
- a NSWRU Resource CD
How long is the course?
The course is 24 hours, conducted over three days, usually a Fri/Sat/Sun.
What should I bring?
The course is usually conducted outdoors, and involves some activity so sports gear is recommended. Please also bring sunscreen, water, a hat, paper and a pen.
Lunch will be provided.
What is the course cost?
$330. Depending on the venue, accommodation may also be provided if requested, at additional cost.
