HSBC Waratahs fans can reserve their place at any of the seven home games during the 2009 Super 14 when tickets go on sale on Monday 19 January.
Memberships have been open since late last year with an 85% renewal rate and a 10% increase in new memberships, however tomorrow marks the first day of individual ticket sales to the six home matches at the Sydney Football Stadium and the Waratahs first ever match at ANZ Stadium.
"The support for the team in 2008 was fantastic, particularly considering the adverse weather which struck at almost every home game," said Amanda Gorvin, Waratahs Ticketing Manager. "We averaged a home crowd of more than 27,000 last season and the strong support helped drive the Waratahs to a perfect record at the Sydney Football Stadium.
"We again have six home games at the SFS this year, and we are also expecting a really strong attendance at the Waratahs first ever Super Rugby match in western Sydney, a replay of the 2008 Super 14 Final against the Crusaders.
"The only way to get Tah'd is to get a ticket, and with the introduction of a fourth ticket category in 2009, there really is an option available for everyone."
Following their success in 2008, curtain raisers will remain a feature of Waratahs match days and will showcase almost every level of the sport within NSW.
The HSBC Junior Waratahs will be on show, while the blockbuster against the Crusaders at ANZ Stadium will be preceded by the Australian Club Championship decider, with Sydney University looking to defend the title against Brisbane premiers Easts. Other home games will see Country, Suburban, Juniors, Army, Navy and Golden Oldies Rugby all featuring in the lead up to the main game.
"We've worked hard on involving everyone in the entire HSBC Waratahs match day experience," said Kym Aust-Howlett, NSWRU General Manager Commercial & Marketing. "All levels of Rugby have the opportunity to feature on game day at some point throughout the season, while the activities for fans around the venue precinct and inside the stadium mean there's no excuse for getting to the ground late.
"We're still working on a few surprises for 2009 as well, so everyone will just have to wait and see exactly what we have up our sleeve for the upcoming season."
Memberships are still open and are more affordable than ever before, with the Tah Patrol category allowing fans to attend every regular season home game for $20 per game for adults, and just $13 per game for Juniors.
Tickets will also go on sale for the Waratahs final Super 14 trial against the Brumbies at the Sydney Football Stadium on Thursday 5 February, while tickets are already on sale for their second pre-season match against the Fiji Warriors at EnergyAustralia Stadium in Newcastle on Friday 30 January.
