Ben Mowen came of age as a professional Rugby player in 2009, starting 11 and playing every match for the Waratahs during the Super 14 season. His only other Super Rugby appearance had come with the Queensland Reds in 2006, however Mowen was able to make the No.6 jersey his own last year. A knee injury at the end of the Shute Shield season meant Mowen missed a Grand Final appearance for Randwick, however he is due to be back on the field in time for round one of the 2010 Super 14.
