Berrick Barnes’ off-season move to the Waratahs has been one of the biggest transfers of the 2010 Super 14 season. A junior rugby league star who switched to Rugby in 2006, Barnes made an immediate impact with the Reds before making his Test debut at RWC 2007. He was named Wallabies vice-captain ahead of the 2009 Spring Tour, however an ankle injury just days before the first match saw him return to Sydney where he will play his first season for the Waratahs.
