Along with Rob Horne, Dan Palmer was one of two players thrust from a development position with the Junior Waratahs into the 2008 Super 14, making his debut in round three against the Highlanders as a teenager.
The 20-year-old has developed quickly for a prop, playing for Australian Schools A in 2005, Australian Schools in 2006, Australia U19 and the Melbourne Rebels in 2007 and the Waratahs and Australia U20s in 2008. He also featured on the Junior Waratahs Development Tour of Fiji at the end of last year.
Born on 13 September 1988 in Shellharbour on the south coast of NSW, Palmer could not be surrounded by better personnel to continue his front row tutelage, with the likes of Al Baxter, Matt Dunning and Benn Robinson on hand to guide him through the next stage of his professional development.
