Mitchell played his first match for Queensland in 2004 before making his Test debut in 2005 at just 21 years of age where he went on to be named the Wallabies’ Rookie of the Year. His career went to another level in 2007 when he played every Super 14 match for the Western Force, secured his position in the national squad and finished the Rugby World Cup as the second highest tryscorer. In just his fifth game for NSW, Mitchell became the first Waratahs player to score four tries in a Super Rugby match.
