A schoolboy star, Kurtley Beale hit the Super 14 with a bang in 2007 before starting every match at flyhalf for the Waratahs in their run to the 2008 Super 14 Final. Back-to-back injuries cruelled Beale’s representative ambitions in 2008, however he went on to be selected for the Wallabies on last year’s Spring Tour where he earned two midweek caps before making his Test debut off the bench against Wales. Primarily used at flyhalf by the Waratahs in the early part of his career, Beale proved his versatility in 2009 with strong performances at fullback and in the centres.
