Lachie Turner’s Super 14 career started with a bang in 2007 when he picked up the Australian Rookie of the Year Award, and in 2008 the winger’s rise continued. Turner scored the Waratahs’ first and last tries for the year, which included doubles in the season opener and the Final to earn himself a place in the national squad for the first time.
Turner went on to make his Test debut against France, was selected on the Wallabies Spring Tour and also featured in two matches for Australia A in the IRB Pacific Nations Cup.
Born in Sydney on 11 May 1987, Turner was educated at Newington College and represented Australian Schools in 2005. An IRB U19 World Championship winner in 2006, Turner made his state debut against Queensland that year before being selected on the Waratahs Development Tour.
