Tom Carter made his state debut as a 21-year-old in 2004, however injury meant he had to wait until 2008 to make his Super 14 debut. Since then he hasn’t missed a Waratahs fixture, starting every match on the way to the 2008 final and filling in a number of roles last season. Carter’s strong 2009 campaign continued into the club season where he was named man-of-the-match in the Sydney University’s Tooheys New Shute Shield Grand Final triumph.
