The HSBC Waratahs have finalised preparations in the dark for Thursday morning's (Sydney time) clash with Buenos Aires after groundsmen ignored NSW requests to light the San Isidro Athletic Club.
Waratahs pivot and goal kicker Tim Donnelly completed kicking practice in moonlight following the oversight.
"He still hit them pretty well," said assistant coach Andy Friend who fielded the kicks behind goal.
Donnelly can be seen in the photo adjacent lining up with the moon high in the sky.
The traditional captain's run began just on sunset but soon eased into the Argentinian gloom.
There is a growing feeling among Waratahs management that the Buenos Aires side could be a powerful as an Argentinian A side.
"They are still to reveal their side but we are certain they'll have players from other regions as they prepare for South Africa A," said head coach Ewen McKenzie
"And we welcome a strengthened opposition because we want to be tested."
