The HSBC Waratahs 2010 Super 14 campaign has come to a close one match short of the competition decider with a 25-6 defeat at the hands of the Stormers at Newlands, Cape Town.

The Stormers scored the only try of the game midway into the first half through Man of the Match Juan de Jongh, however it was the boot of flyhalf Peter Grant which kept the scoreline ticking over for the home side.
Berrick Barnes missed a long-range penalty attempt in the fourth minute of play, before Grant piloted two of his own in the ninth and twelfth minutes to take the Stormers out to an early advantage.
Barnes then put the visitors on the board 16 minutes in when lock Andries Bekker was penalised for a high shot on NSW wing Drew Mitchell.
Defence continued to dominate the match, and Barnes piloted a drop goal in the 25th minute to tie the game up.
However the Stormers hit back straight away when de Jongh used three sidesteps in quick succession to break through the NSW defensive line a streak away for a try next to the posts.
Barnes attempted a long penalty kick eight minutes from half-time, however was unable to stop the Stormers going to the break with a seven-point advantage.
The only points of the second half came through the boot of Grant who kicked four more penalties from five attempts, with most of those chances coming through infringements at the ruck.
The Stormers will now play the Bulls in the 2010 Super 14 Final next Saturday at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
The HSBC Waratahs will board a flight to Sydney on Sunday evening before arriving on Monday afternoon.
