Primary Schools Development
Active children are healthy children - Rugby is about developing the child.
NSWRU has a continuing and growing interest in the primary school sport.
We see Rugby as a means by which we can assist teachers and parents by engaging their children in an active sport that will assist their development.
Primary school Rugby can take many forms ranging from a multi week interschool competitions through to one off gala days, to representative carnivals and ultimately a NSW Primary Schools Representative Team that competes against teams from other states.
An education oriented program "EdRugby" provides teachers with classroom lesson plans that cover a range of learning areas using Rugby as a common and interesting theme.
To learn more about Ed Rugby and to get your school involved in Rugby all you have to do is call NSW Rugby Union (02 8354 3310) and we can direct you to your nearest NSW Rugby Project Officer who will help you to design a program and get it happening.
Rugby – let children work off their surplus energy and enthusiasm on a sport that actively encourages their development.
