In 2017, the NSW Waratahs charity strategy will be restructured. NSW Waratahs will move away from the ‘match day only’ charity concept and start to build legitimate relationships with two official charity partners. Successful partners will receive a range of benefits including player support, money-can’t-buy experiences and game day and community event activations, specifically designed to help support their work, whether it be in raising funds, boosting awareness or promoting key events. Although only a one year commitment, we hope to retain our charity partners for further years upon review.
Applications for charity partners will be reviewed against five criteria, with preference given to those applicants who successfully demonstrate they meet at least three of five criteria below:
Before applying, please read our Charity Partner Policy document for more information around the criteria, eligibility and due dates.
NSW Waratahs Partner Charity Consideration Form
Once finalised, NSW Waratahs’ charitable donations will be focused on the two official partners. As a result, we regret that we are often unable to assist everyone with the large volume of additional requests we receive, however in 2017 we will be introducing a ballot system to show our support for the many good and worthy causes that come our way.
During the Super Rugby season we will run a monthly draw system to give all the numerous requests a fair and equal opportunity of receiving a charity donation (apparel or tickets) and to show our support for the many good and worthy causes that come our way. As 2016 allocations have all been used up, the 2017 ballot will commence once the season starts.
More details on how to request support will be posted here closer to the start of the season.
