NSW Gen Blue U20 team will travel to Brisbane this weekend to take on rivals Queensland in what is tipped to be one of the toughest matches of the competition.
With only two rounds remaining, both sides to secure the win to ensure they finish on top of the ladder and secure a home Final.
Both the Gen Blue and Qld Reds remain undefeated in the U20 Super Rugby competition and likely to face each other in the Final.
Gen Blue Head Coach, Pat McCutheon, said the NSW Waratahs and Qld Reds enjoy a long standing rivalry which starts in the junior ranks.
“Any time NSW takes on Queensland you can expect the game to be very spirited and physical game and that’s what we’re expecting this weekend,” said McCutheon.
“Queensland on their home soil will certainly be tough but we are ready for the challenge.
“I was impressed by our team last weekend against the Brumbies where they were able to keep their composure right to the end. Our reserves also added loads of energy and stepped it up another level for us which shows the depth in the side,” he said.
Gen Blue take on the Qld Reds on Saturday 18 March at 1:50pm (Qld time) at Wests Bulldogs.
