Pre-season treat for NSW Waratahs members

NSW Waratahs members are in for a treat with free entry to the 2018 pre-season match against the Melbourne Rebels.

The match on 15 February at Brookvale Oval on Sydney’s Northern Beaches marks the first of the team’s home games ahead of a bumper Super Rugby season. Earlier that month, the team will travel to picturesque Queenstown in New Zealand to face the Highlanders.

NSW Waratahs Coach Daryl Gibson said 2018 shapes up to be an exciting challenge for the team with a new-look coaching structure and a group of young, up-and-coming talent.

“We have a new Assistant Coach in Simon Cron and a group of young players eager to make their mark and push for Super Rugby selection,” Gibson said.

“2018 is about delivering on our potential and putting together performances that the team and our fans can be proud of. These games provide us with the perfect opportunity to get ourselves match-ready for the season against two quality teams. And the match at Brookvale is the perfect dress rehearsal and our last chance to prepare ourselves for the season opener against the Stormers.”

“When we last played at Brookvale it was awesome to see the families come along and the community embracing the team. It would be great if we could create that fantastic atmosphere again because I know that the team, and particularly the players from that region, cannot wait to play at Brookvale again.”

For those who are yet to secure their membership for 2018, the NSW Waratahs have announced a range of options to suit all rugby fans across the State.

Tickets for the trial in Brookvale go on sale in January and details will be published on the NSW Waratahs website.
