Pool stage opponents decided for Brisbane Global Tens

By NSW Waratahs Media unit

The NSW Waratahs have been placed in Pool B alongside threesome familiar opposition following the official Brisbane Global Rugby Tens tournament draw in Brisbane on Wednesday afternoon.

NSW will face off against touring French side Section Paloise, as well as New Zealand-counterparts the Chiefs and the Highlanders for the initial pool stage of the competition.

Global Tens ambassador and returning NSW playmaker, Kurtley Beale helped with proceedings on the day alongside Reds prop, James Slipper and Queensland Rugby Women’s Kiri Langman.

The women’s division has been given a boost for the 2018 instalment of the Brisbane Tens, extending to four teams after the inclusion of Rebels and Brumbies sides. The women from NSW took out the prize last year after defeating Queensland 5-0 on the Sunday of competition.

The Brisbane Global Tens kick off on February 9-10, adopting a new day/night format for the weekend of fast-paced rugby. For more information, head to www.brisbaneglobaltens.com
